Mapsi Photonics closes the Seed funding round

Mapsi Photonics inaugurates the new office’s and production center

Mapsi Photonics team is excited to announce the inauguration of our new offices and production center

What intense days we experienced last week, we visited for the first time the trade fair Laser World of Photonics. It was very interesting and successful. We achieved the goals we set for ourselves and some very interesting extras. Sales team is currently working to convert these amazing leads into success common histories!

On Saturday April 30th the agenda was complete. First, the first anual shareholder’s meeting. After, all together, along with friends, clients, families, investors, advisors and many people who have colaborated with Mapsi Photonics, we inaugurated the new offices and production center of Mapsi Photonics. It was a very lively and emotional event, with about 50 people who joined us. Thank you very much to all of you for your support!

You can find us at the Centre d’Empreses del Baix Llobregat (C/ Tirso de Molina 36, Nau 3A). Don’t hesitate to stop by and visit us!

Mapsi Photonics winner of the Cornella Open Future program

Yesterday we met with the Procornellà team and Deputy Mayor of Cornellà de Llobregat, to collect the award that credits Mapsi Photonics as Startup winner of the Procornellà Business Center, award within the OpenFuture accelerator. We are very pleased and grateful for this prize and because they have provided us the new space where Mapsi Photonics SL is installed. Thank you very much Procornellà and Openfuture for opening our doors!

Also, last wedensday we were at Wayra (the investment section of Telefonica) presenting our project within the Cornellà Open Future program. Once again, thank you very much for giving us the opportunity. We are delighted to meet you! We’ll stay in contact.

Mapsi Photonics closes the Seed funding round

The Mapsi Photonics team is very excited to share with you the most awaited update of Mapsi Photonics.

We would like to announce that a couple of weeks ago we closed the Seed funding round of about 250 k€ articulated through Business Angels. We wanted to thank the Deep Tech Forum and the organizations behind the program (Esade BAN, Barcelona Activa and consortium of universities of Catalonia) because their event was key in the search for funding. And of course, to all the investors who have trusted and believed in us to bring our deep-tech proposal to the market.

We also want to announce that a few days ago we were informed of the granting of an ENISA participative credit for Young Entrepreneurs and a StartUp Capital Acció grant!
Thank you very much to both organizations. We are very grateful for having valued our proposal so positively (we have been the 2nd of about 150 startups that applied to the Startup Capital Acció program). For us it is a great recognition!

Finally, today we have been given the keys of the warehouse where we will have our new offices and production headquarters, located in the Procornellà Business Center (Cornellà), to whom we also wanted to thank for the bet they have made for us. It is a great place to start.

As you can imagine, at Mapsi Photonics we are very happy. We have exceeded expectations and we are a little overwhelmed by the echo that our company is having. We are aware that this is a roller coaster. We have gone through very hard times and now we are in a sweet moment. We cannot foresee the future. What we can say is that we will give our best for this motivating project we have in our hands, which we feel belongs to more and more people. This round will allow us to reach the market and this makes us feel very excited.

Thank you very much to everyone for your trust and support! It has been a pleasure to find so many people/entities willing to risk for new industries based on deep tech technologies!

By the way! We are growing and we are looking for dynamic and versatile people for Mapsi Photonics! Check the job offers and if you feel like being part of the team, the project and the future of the company, do not hesitate to contact us!

Mapsi Photonics at La Vanguardia

We are pleased to announce that yesterday an almost one-page article about Mapsi Photonics was published in the ‘Money’ supplement of La Vanguardia! The article explains very well what we do, where we are and what we want to do. In this sense, we are very grateful for the great communication work that La Vanguardia has done!!!

The only small downside we find is the headline. At Mapsi Photonics we manufacture filters that can improve explosive gas detection in industry, fire detection, night vision or medical applications, among many other applications. We believe that the title is simplistic and does not represent what we do at Mapsi Photonics because it particularizes a very specific application in medicine. Sure our optical elements will help better detection in biomedical applications, but for now it is not our main focus.

We wanted to clarify this point and share with you this article about Mapsi Photonics for whoever is interested. Many thanks to La Vanguardia for giving us this visibility and to everyone who is making Mapsi Photonics gain momentum!!
